Mango salsa is sweet, tangy, and so vibrant. It is the perfect compliment to tortilla chips. You can also serve it alongside meat or seafood. One of my favorite ways to have it is served on top of fish tacos. It is truly a versatile salsa that is flavorful and super easy to make. If you’ve never tried mango salsa, you are definitely missing out!
INGREDIENTS
- mango – use slightly firm, but ripe mango for the best flavor and texture
- tomato – adds a little more sweetness and acidity
- red onion – adds a slightly spicy, peppery flavor; gives the salsa a crispy texture in contrast with the soft, tender mango
- cilantro – enhances the flavor with its freshness
- garlic – finely minced or chopped
- lime juice – I always prefer squeezing fresh lime juice over using the kind that comes in a bottle, because the flavors just don’t taste the same to me.
- jalapeño – Adds a spicy kick!
- salt – for seasoning
HOW TO MAKE MANGO SALSA

Mango Salsa
Mango salsa is sweet, tangy, and so vibrant. It pairs perfectly with fish tacos or simply served alongside tortilla chips.
Ingredients
- 2 mango peeled and diced
- 1 medium tomato diced
- ½ cup red onion minced
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
- ⅓ cup cilantro chopped
- 1 jalapeño minced
- Juice of 1 lime
- ¼ teaspoon salt plus more as needed
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine and mix all ingredients with a large spoon. Season with more salt, if needed.
- Serve with chips or enjoy on tacos!
Notes
- You want to use slightly firm, but ripe mango for the best flavor and texture. Overripe mango will turn into mush in the salsa. Under ripe mango won’t produce the sweet flavor you are looking for.
- You can control how much spiciness you want to add to the salsa by removing the seeds of the jalapeño pepper for less heat. Leave out the jalapeño pepper if you don’t want any heat.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
