Pepitas are pumpkin seeds without the shell. They make a delicious, roasted snack or topping on soups and salads. You can add different seasonings to add more flavor. For example, try adding chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, or a little cayenne pepper for some heat! Or add a little maple syrup and sea salt for a sweet and salty snack. For a basic roasted pepitas recipe, all you need are 3 ingredients!
INGREDIENTS
- raw pepitas – I order mine in bulk online because I know I’ll use all of it and it can be stored in an airtight container for months in the pantry
- olive oil – helps pepitas roast and get crispy in the oven
- salt – optional, but recommended for added flavor
HOW TO MAKE ROASTED PEPITAS
In a bowl, mix pepitas, salt, and olive oil. Stir to coat evenly. Transfer pepitas to lined baking sheet.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes to cook evenly. Let pepitas cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
