Total Time 50 minutes mins
- 1 pound bacon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper
Preheat oven to 375℉.
Place a wire rack on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper. Put slices of bacon on the rack.
Combine maple syrup, brown sugar, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Brush bacon with the sugar-syrup mixture.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, until bacon is crispy.
Let bacon cool on rack for 10 minutes before transferring to a plate to serve.
You may need two baking sheets for all of the bacon.
Your total bake time will depend on the thickness of the bacon you are using and how crispy you prefer your bacon (i.e. thicker bacon will need more time in the oven). To avoid overcooking, start checking on the bacon after 25 minutes in the oven.
The bacon will continue to caramelize as it's cooling on the wire rack.
